Documentary cinema celebration details announced

The 9th edition of the Independent Celebration of Iran Documentary Cinema is to be held next September, featuring its Special Medal for first time.

The details of the organization of the 9th Independent Celebration of Iran Documentary Cinema have been announced by its president, Sam Kalantari.

“This year will be the first in which we present the Special Medal of the Independent Celebration of Iran Documentary Cinema to the participants”, Kalantari announced.

The president of the Independent Celebration of Iran Documentary Cinema continued saying that the Special Medal will be awarded in all categories of the ceremony.

“The reason we have chosen to add the word independent to the title of the ceremony is that we are trying to move toward more academic work, an objective for which the House of Cinema has been striving”, he added.

It has also been announced that the call for documentary directors to submit their works started on July 3rd, 2017 while the actual ceremony will take place on September 10, 2017.
